If you are taking your holiday in Caulonia in Italy, there are a range of different bars and restaurants to suit all tastes. Sample traditional seafood, pizza and pasta dishes from the region of Calabria and taste the best pastries and ice cream that Italy has to offer.

Caffe Color

It has a good assortment of coffees, drinks and ice creams. It looks like a DIY shop, hence its name so not easy to identify.

Yoghurt Island

Situated next to Ristorante da Elia opposite the Amusa development. It has a excellent selection of smoothies, milk shakes and ice cream drinks. It has a pretty courtyard where you can enjoy your drink. The interior is tastefully decorated.

Bar Moonlight

This bar is situated on the main road "via Nazionale" near the pharmacy and the supermarket. It has a good selection of pastries, drinks, coffees and ice cream. Their morning croissants are extremely large, freshly baked, filled with apricot jam and are a delight. In the evening, it's ideal for an aperitif as they have a few tapas on the bar. You can also sit outside. The owner is Domenico and he's really friendly.

Bar Dell'Angolo

Bar dell'Angolo is next to the pharmacy just on the corner. It is a small bar with a good choice of pastries, coffees and drinks. There are a few tables and chairs outside. It's very elegant inside with welcoming staff.

Bar Rainbow

Bar Rainbow is in front of the train station. It has a good variety of cakes, pastries, coffees and drinks. There is a seating area inside and outside. It's where the locals congregate most evenings.

Bar Roma

Bar Roma is at the bottom of Vista Sila on the road leading to Amusa. It is run by a cheerful man who enjoys peoples company. It is a small bar which is immaculately clean inside and fully stocked including italian draught beer. There are a few tables inside and outside. There is a games room for those who fancy a game of pool. Prices are very reasonable. Bar Roma is next to the hairdresser which is apparently highly recommended by the locals.

Planet Caffe

Planet Caffe is situated on the main road of Caulonia Marina next to the arches and the main square. They do a large selection of pastries, coffees, cocktails, drinks and ice creams. Sundae ice creams start from 5 euro and are reasonably sized. They have a good assortment of flavours to choose from. You can sit in their shady seating area and watch the world go by. The staff are very friendly. The bar is open from 7am until very late in the evening.

Church Bar

This bar is near the main church of Caulonia Marina. It has plenty of tables and chairs inside and outside. It overlooks the town's main park where there is the local market every saturday.

Restaurants

Pizzeria Blue Bay

Pizzeria Blue Bay is located on the side of the road just as you leave Caulonia Marina. It serves an excellent choice of pizza and they are baked in the traditional log oven. The menu is mainly pizza or snacks such as hot filled rolls which the Calabresi usually eat along with a drink when they are socialising with friends. They have a good assortment of drinks and cocktails and you can also sit outside. The inside is tastefully decorated and looks like the interior of an aquarium. They have candlelit tables and confortable chairs. This is usually open from 7pm onwards.

Ristorante Da Elia

This restaurant is family run and is located on via Pitagoras near the Sisa supermarket and Amusa development. It serves traditional dishes such as pizza, pasta, meat and seafood. It is surrounded by trees and plants and very pleasant to sit outside and enjoy your meal. An average meal would cost 15 euros per person, wine and liquers included. It has a great selection of dishes including drinks. The prices are very reasonable and the staff are extremely friendly.

Mojo Pin

Mojo pin is situated inside the Hotel Tassone just as you leave Caulonia Marina and specialises in pasta, pizza, meat dishes and typical dishes of the area. The establishment is tastefully decorated. It has a fully stocked bar with live music and entertainment most evenings. They have a good assortment of drinks and cocktails. A nice place to come and listen to music and relax with a drink.

Ristorante Imbarcadero

This is an excellent seafood restaurant and specialises in other foods. It is tastefully decorated and highly recommended by the locals. There are tables inside and outside. It can be quite difficult to find. You need to follow the road out of Caulonia for the direction of Stignano. As soon as you come to a bridge you will see the sign for the restaurant on your left and a country road. Follow the road until you see the entrance for Imbarcadero.

Trattoria Da Marcello

Trattoria Da Marcello is a rustic style restaurant specialising in typical dishes from the area. You take the road via Ente Sila next to the main post office on Via Pitagoras, the road where Amusa is. Follow the road straight on. It will take you on to a quiet country road. The views are spectacular. Continue along that road and you will see the sign for the restaurant on your right.

Takeaways

Floriss - Pizza Takeaway

There is a good pizza takeaway next to the corner bar near the pharmacy. An excellent range of pizzas and very reasonably priced. Delivery is possible.
